This session is designed to give admins a practical command of the Specright data model — from understanding what each core object is responsible for to making confident decisions about how and when to change a field or a relationship.
We’ll focus on real structures you work in every day. By the end of the session, you’ll be able to explain how the core Specright objects connect, describe why connection objects exist, model a many-to-many relationship correctly, and anticipate what a field or relationship change will do downstream before you make it.
The main focus of this session is an in-depth look under the hood of the Specright platform: the core objects and the connection objects that join them, how many-to-many relationships are modeled, and the downstream impact of changes. We’ll also walk through the common “don’t do this” scenarios, so you can see exactly which patterns quietly break reporting later — and what to do instead.
What you’ll learn:
How to navigate the Specright data model: the core objects, what each one is responsible for, and where the joins live
Why connection objects exist — the problem they solve and how to tell when you need one
Many-to-many relationships explained: how they’re modeled, when to reach for them, and how to keep them clean
Lookup vs. master-detail relationships, and what each choice commits you to
Downstream impacts of field and relationship changes — what breaks in reports, workflows, and integrations, and why sequence matters
Data model governance best practices: naming conventions, required vs. optional fields, and documenting relationships so the next admin can follow them
The common “don’t do this” scenarios — duplicate records, orphaned lookups, and overloaded objects — and what to do instead
How to trace a reporting gap back to its source in the data model
A repeatable review checklist for every field and relationship change
Bringing together leaders in industry and technology to drive innovation.
