Specright Launches Automated PPWR Declaration of Conformity Reporting

New capability automates PPWR Declaration of Conformity reporting ahead of the EU’s first enforcement deadline in August 2026.

LOS ANGELES, Calif.– July 22, 2026 – Specright®, the leader in AI-powered Specification Data Management™ (SDM) and modern Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), today announced a new Declaration of Conformity (DoC) reporting capability that automates one of the most demanding requirements of the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

Companies placing packaged goods on the EU market must be able to produce a signed Declaration of Conformity on demand starting August 12, 2026 — demonstrating that packaging meets PPWR Articles 5 through 12, which cover substance restrictions, recyclability, recycled content, minimization, reusability, and labeling. For most brands, the documentation behind a DoC is scattered across suppliers, spreadsheets, and disconnected systems, turning a routine filing into a monthslong search for missing paperwork.

“This launch builds directly on the investments we’ve made in the last year in the EMEA region — from the PPWR-ready packaging intelligence we introduced at Paris Packaging Week to the expansion of our EMEA operations in London,” said Danielle Goad, Director of EMEA at Specright. “Our commitment is to help European and global brands turn regulatory complexity into a manageable, proactive capability, not a last-minute scramble.”

Specright’s new DoC capability replaces that scramble with a structured, audit-ready system of record. Since a lot of the required data originates with suppliers, the capability leverages Specright’s AI-powered Supplier Collaboration solution, which gives suppliers a fast, guided way to share key data and removes the manual back-and-forth that typically pulls packaging and product engineers off their core work. Every finished good now includes a PPWR compliance tab that tracks readiness article by article, flags missing data or supporting documents, and rolls up compliance status across all components of a finished good. When it’s time to file, a guided workflow assembles the Declaration of Conformity and its full technical documentation dossier in minutes — not the months many compliance teams currently spend chasing supplier paperwork.

“PPWR compliance can’t be an afterthought once enforcement begins, it has to be built into how companies manage their packaging data from day one,” said Karthik Rajagopal, Chief Product Officer at Specright. “This capability gives brands a direct line from the specification data they already manage in Specright to a defensible, audit-ready Declaration of Conformity, replacing months of manual document chasing with a guided, systematic process.”

The PPWR Declaration of Conformity capability will be available to Specright customers on July 23, 2026, ahead of the regulation’s August 12, 2026 enforcement deadline. To learn more, visit www.specright.com/ppwr or request a demo.
