specright product release 21.0

The Specright Product Team is excited to announce the first major release of 2023, with Release 21.0. This release includes a wide variety of new features, as well as enhancements that are all focused on enabling our customers to do more with the Specification Data Management (SDM) platform and realize business benefits faster.

Release 21.0 includes the following features and enhancements…

New Data Insights Module to Easily Identify Data Gaps

This release introduces the new Data Insights module, which centralizes Specright’s data analysis capabilities. The first feature within this module is Data Completeness, a reporting tool that helps customers assess the quality and completeness of their data.

Customers can configure which objects, record types, and fields to analyze, run reports, and receive notifications when reports are ready. Reports provide a clear view of field and record completion, helping teams quickly identify and address data gaps.

What are the Key Benefits of Data Insights – Data Completeness?

  • Quickly identifies data gaps across configured objects

  • Configurable by object, record type, and field

  • Foundation for future enhancements such as inline editing

Revision Management: Update Related Associations

Building on Revision Management capabilities introduced in Release 20.0, this update adds an option to automatically update related associations when a new revision is created. Selected connections are updated to the latest version, and outdated connections are removed.

What are the key benefits of Revision Management?

  • Improves operational efficiency by reducing manual updates

  • Ensures related records always reference the latest revision

Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) Now Includes Multiple Page COAs

DP has been enhanced to support multi-page Certificates of Analysis (COAs), including files with multiple COAs and lot numbers. Extracted COA data is displayed in separate tabs, allowing users to review, select valid pages, and exclude irrelevant content before submission.

What are the key benefits of IDP Multi-Page Support?

  • Reduces manual data entry for multi-page COAs

  • Improves extraction accuracy across complex COA formats

Facility Lines and Machinery Specs Now in SDM

We are releasing new Machinery and Line objects to allow customers to manage their machinery and line specifications. These can be tied to an account in the system as well as many other objects. Some out of the box linkages include:

  • Machines and Facility Lines to Ingredients
  • Machines and Facility Lines to Formulas
  • Machines and Facility Lines to Specifications
  • Machines and Facility Lines to Finished Goods

What are the key benefits of having Machinery Specs in Specright’s SDM Platform?

New Machinery and Facility Line objects allow customers to manage equipment and line specifications directly within SDM. These objects can be linked to a wide range of records, including ingredients, formulations, specifications, finished goods, and quality data.

What are the key benefits of having Machinery Specs in Specright’s SDM Platform?

  • Centralizes machine and line specifications, capabilities, and maintenance data

  • Enables enhanced allergen tracking, compatibility analysis, and performance insights

Out-of-the-Box Net Zero Cloud Integration

This extension package creates pre-built connections between Specright and Salesforce Net Zero Cloud. Customers can leverage existing product, packaging, and bill of materials data to support emissions reporting.

What are the key benefits of Net Zero Cloud integration?

  • Expands Scope 3 emissions tracking

  • Supports product-level carbon footprint analysis using Specright or Net Zero Cloud data

What are the key benefits of Net Zero Cloud integration?

  • Expands Scope 3 emissions collection opportunities for companies tracking Scope 1 & Scope 2 emissions with Salesforce’s Net Zero Cloud
  • Specright’s bill of materials allows users to evaluate Scope 3 Product Carbon Footprints using either Specright or Net Zero Cloud data source

Composite API Now Part of the Specright API Catalog

The new Composite API allows integrations to perform actions across multiple related records in a single request, reducing complexity when working with specification data.

What are the key benefits of Composite API?

  • Simplifies integrations by reducing the number of API calls

  • Improves efficiency when working with complex, multi-object spec data

Link Finished Goods with Multi-Level BOMs

A new unified object enables connections between Finished Goods (Spec Families) and Specifications, as well as between specifications themselves, to create multi-level Bills of Material in a single related list.

What are the key benefits of this update?

  • Simplifies multi-level BOM management

  • Reduces backend complexity and improves the user experience

Specright Specification Data Management Enhancements

Formulations – Allergens Enhancements

The formulations module has been upgraded to support allergen rollups from ingredients to finished goods. This new architecture also enables tracking of additional attributes, such as claims.

What are the key benefits of Allergens Enhancements?

  • Makes allergens easier to find and manage as specifications

  • Lays the groundwork for future integrations with regulatory databases

TOPS Integration – Flexible Mapping Support

The TOPS Pro integration now supports more flexible data mapping, allowing attributes to be pulled from primary records, associated finished goods, or junction records.

What are the key benefits of this update?

  • Simplifies implementation

  • Eliminates the need for custom rollup fields

Artwork Viewer: Switch File Orientation

The Artwork Viewer now allows users to rotate supported artwork files directly within Specright, improving usability during reviews.

What are the key benefits of this update?

  • Eliminates the need to download and manually rotate artwork files
