Managing specifications has always been about more than storing data — it’s about putting that data to work. Our Winter 2026 release (Release 32) does exactly that, with new features designed to take the manual effort out of compliance reporting, surface regulatory risks before they become problems, and give your data more power across your entire product portfolio.

Here’s a look at a few highlights.

From Compliance Risk to Regulatory Reports — Without Leaving Specright

Extended Producer Responsibility compliance has never been simple, but it doesn’t have to be as painful as it once was. Release 32 brings two complementary capabilities, both in partnership with Lorax, that together simplify the EPR compliance workflow — from early design decisions all the way through regulatory reporting.

Know your risk before you commit to a design. One of the most costly moments in packaging development is discovering a regulatory problem after a material decision has already been made. Compliance Insights is designed to prevent exactly that. With a single click on any packaging component or finished good record, your team can generate a regulatory analysis that surfaces active bans, pending restrictions, and EPR cost impact — right on the spec record. EPR fee severity (High, Medium, Low) is visible at a glance, so teams can factor cost implications into material decisions before they’re locked in.

Then turn that data into audit-ready reports in minutes. When it’s time to report, the new EPR Report Generator takes over. Users can upload sales data and generate regulatory-ready reports in the exact format required by each jurisdiction — automatically. Specright’s packaging spec data combines with Lorax’s regulatory intelligence to handle the complex translations and calculations that would otherwise mean weeks of spreadsheet work. A compliance deadline dashboard shows all EPR obligations across U.S. states and international markets in one place, with region-specific requirements and deadlines visible from a single interface. Coverage spans Oregon, Colorado, and California through the Circular Action Alliance, as well as international markets.

For sustainability and compliance teams — or all the packaging engineers moonlighting as compliance experts these days — this is transformative. What used to take weeks now takes minutes, with fewer errors and more time to focus on strategy rather than manipulating spreadsheets.

Manufacturing Instructions: A Quick Refresher — Plus What’s New

Introduced in our previous release, Manufacturing Instructions brought a needed capability to Specright: the ability to author, manage, and connect step-by-step production instructions directly to your spec records. Rather than living in disconnected documents or tribal knowledge on the plant floor, manufacturing instructions now live where your specifications live — linked to the right components, versions, and workflows. Teams get a single source of truth that keeps production aligned with the latest approved specs, reduces errors during handoffs, and makes onboarding and audits significantly easier.

New in Release 32: Dynamic Process Attributes. This release, we’re extending Manufacturing Instructions with Dynamic Process Attributes — a feature that allows process-level data fields to adapt based on the specific product, component, or scenario being produced. Rather than maintaining separate instruction sets for every variation, teams can configure attributes that dynamically reflect the relevant parameters for each context. The result is leaner documentation, fewer opportunities for human error, and manufacturing instructions that actually keep pace with the complexity of your product portfolio.

And There’s More

Release 32 also includes major enhancements to Spec Export, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), Specright Tasks, the Batch Calculator, Rollups, the How2Recycle integration, and more.

As always, every feature requires an upgrade to the latest version of Specright. Reach out to your Specright team to learn more.
