PackSight, Powered by Specright
PackSight was designed to digitize ISTA packaging performance testing data, enabling users to conduct tests accurately and efficiently. PackSight follows the same foundational belief Specright was built on: that data enables our users to make amazing things, from development, to testing, to launch.
ISTA & Specright: The People Behind PackSight
ISTA had a goal to modernize packaging testing, prompting a search for a partner who not only had extensive technology expertise, but a deep understanding of packaging as well. Enter, Specright.

Select, Collect and Analyze ISTA Packaging Protocols with PackSight
PackSight is transforming the way packaging testing is performed. Labs can select, collect and analyze test reports within PackSight, creating efficiencies and visibility for stakeholders across the supply chain.

Feel confident knowing the right test has been selected - Collect
Quickly and easily perform procedures once your test is selected - Analyze
Auto-generate report based on inputs and documentation, all in one place
Select Test Paths
With PackSight, users can feel confident knowing they’ve selected the right test. Users simply enter basic package information and PackSight generates the right test path to perform.
With the rise of more complicated and nuanced test procedures such as 6-Amazon.com-SIOC or 6-SAMSCLUB, PackSight takes the guesswork out of packaging testing and reduces the time it takes to complete tests.
Collect Data
Once users select the right test, they can quickly and easily perform the procedures. Whether users are veteran testers or new to the process, they can select a step-by-step or short test plan to complete tests.
Given the variables across packaging labs setups, users can perform the tests in a variety of ways.
Analyze Testing Trends
With thousands of ISTA tests completed each year, there is a wealth of data on packaging performance. Previously, labs and brands had little visibility into test trends or results over time.
With PackSight, labs can pull data on tests and look at historical trends. No more searching through personal file folders or shared drives. Because PackSight captures data in a consistent, structured manner, it’s easy to compare tests as apples-to-apples even if they’re performed by different people. Users can easily pull data and reports to answer questions such as: why is a certain product type always failing?
Auto-Generate Test Reports
One of the major benefits of PackSight automatic report generation, which can take hours when done manually.
With PackSight, users can auto-generate reports within the platform based on their inputs and documentation. Within minutes, users can have a PDF or digital version of their test, stored within PackSight for historical tracking and reporting. Test results can be easily accessed on the go, via the internet.
Is my data used for analytics?
At this time, we don’t do analytics on any sensitive test data. Here’s the kind of data we capture in order to improve our product and understand usage:
– User login frequency
– Test creation date & completion date
– Test procedure type
– # of tests created by Lab Member
We are not ruling out the future use of test data for analytics, but users can opt-out of any future analytics projects by unchecking “Opt In ISTA Sharing” on their user contact page. Reach out to the PackSight support team for any assistance in opting out.
Who can access my data?
Any users set up under the same lab can see all data created by other members of the same lab. If your company has multiple labs with different ISTA Lab Member IDs, users from those different lab locations will not be able to see each others’ data unless such data sharing is requested.
If you have created a shareable test link for your test report, the data in that report will be visible to anyone you’ve shared a report’s external link with. Please use appropriate caution when using shareable links, and use passwords whenever possible.
If you reach out to PackSight Support with an issue that requires visibility to your test record, our Support Admins can access your test data for active support requests. PackSight Support is operated by Specright, a SOC2 compliant company.
ISTA team members do not have access to individual test records.
Does ISTA see my test results or test data?
ISTA team members do not have access to individual test records unless a shareable link or PDF export from PackSight has been explicitly shared with them.
